This website is about the GOAN Christian Community of Pakistan. Every Goan has ancestral roots in Goa, India, formerly a Portuguese colony. All Goans of Pakistan are predominantly Catholic. Although the 'Christian Community of Pakistan' has contributed immensely to nation-building; this endeavor is solely dedicated to researching, highlighting and archiving the GOAN community's historical background, cultural heritage, significant achievements and contribution to Pakistan, before and after independence.


Mr. Joaquim DMello was born in Karachi in 1933 and educated at St. Patrick’s High School and College, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is currently Senior Vice-President of the Muslim Commercial Bank Ltd., the largest private bank in Pakistan.

Joaquim continued his studies during his banking career, becoming a Diplomaet Associate of the Institute of Bankers - Pakistan, and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers - London. He is the author of Foreign Trade and Foreign Exchange published in two volumes by the Institute of Bankers in Pakistan. He is also a regular contributor to the Journal of the Institute of Bankers under the column Legal Discussions Affecting Bankers.

Joaquim is married to Joyce (nee Rodgers), and they have four children, James, Jennifer Menezes, Jeanne Misquita, and Jessica Alphons; and four grandchildren.
