Conclusion

CONCLUSION: The Goan community of Karachi and elsewhere has indeed contributed immensely to the development of Pakistan, before and after independence. It gave the country some of its most eminent personalities, educationists, jurists, town planners, officers of the armed forces, intelligence and police, civil servants, businessmen, professionals, financial wizards, journalists, writers, social sector specialists, master musicians, renowned sporting heroes and national champions.

It is unprecedented in world history how a small community of people, a minuscule Diaspora (not exceeding 10,000 at its most prominence) could wield so much influence in a country of their adoption, before and after its independence.

If it was the philanthropy of the Parsis which gave Karachi its glorious landmarks, it was the Goans' panache for excellence and success, cultural way of life and abundance of talent that won a special place for them in the history of the Pakistan - which regrettably, is all but forgotten.
